定語從句和狀語從句的區別

狀語從句是從句的形式做狀語，,修飾的是主句的謂語動詞。而定語從句是從句的形式做定語，修飾的是主句中的某個名詞、代詞；區分標準,簡單的說，從句修飾主句謂語的是狀語從句，從句修飾主句中的名詞性成分的,是定語從句。

1、where引導的定語從句與狀語從句的區別

where 引導的定語從句，其先行詞是表示地點的；另一方面，與大多數定語從句一樣，引導詞where在定語從句中代表缺失的句子成分――地點狀語 (反復閱讀時應該有定語從句缺了地點狀語的感覺)，如:

It only takes us a few minutes to get to the place where they lived.

我們只花了幾分鐘時間到達他們所居住的地方。

(這里live 后邊缺了地點狀語，完整的句子應為 They lived in the place。)

We have reached the point where a big change is needed.

我們已經到達了必須做出大改變的時候了。

（這里定語從句變為完整的句子是：A big change is needed at this point.）

It got to the point where I was so ill I was waiting to die.

2、when引導的定語從句與狀語從句的區別

when 引導的定語從句更容易被誤認為是狀語從句，一般需要從意思上來與狀語從句區分。另外，when引導的定語從句前邊的先行詞多為表時間的名詞如hour、day、evening、 morning、time 等，這一點也有助于辨別。

I'll never forget the days when I worked with you. 我永遠不會忘記我與你共事的日子。

Mid-autumn is the time when the moon is at its fullest and brightest. 中秋是月亮最圓最亮的時候。

The day when we met was a sunny day.

我們相遇的那天是個陽光明媚的日子。
